Intro to Sewing

Learn the basics of sewing! You can learn how to use the sewing machines we have at Makerspace as well as basic sewing techniques. Feel free to bring your own machine in if you want to practice on it.

New to sewing members and guests do not need to bring anything, as we have practice fabric available. If you have a project you are welcome to bring it and work on it and get assistance.

MakerSpace members will be starting a Make a Messenger Bag project. For this you will need 1 1/2 yards of canvas weight fabric, 1 1/2 yards of lining fabric (optional), 1 1/2 yards of 1 1/2" wide or 2" wide webbing for the strap in (optional, you can also choose to make it from fabric or I have some basic colors available for purchase), and a 7" standard zipper (optional if you want a zippered interior pocket). Hardware will be available for purchase for $20.
