Málaga MeetUPs Goes Urban Hiking Este

Walky walky.. Drinky drinky? Come mini hike to pre-burn calories, then off for a social party.

Join us for the first Málaga Meetup’s for a while, now we are not baking our asses off. We are getting a little more interesting that just hitting up bars. So how about a walk.. and then we hit up bars.

We've all seen those hills East of Málaga Centro, from popular beaches like La Malagueta, Playa La Caleta and Pedregalejo but what does this area look like from up there ? You'll find out how surprising beautiful it is by exploring the neighbourhood of El Limonar, hike Monte Victoria and see visit the forest area on the back of Gibralfaro. Stunning views and a surprises along the way and lots of photo opportunity guaranteed!

We'll meet up in front of Heladería Ignacio Mira, public transportation is available by EMT line 32, which departs from Paseo del Parque (ride 13 minutes to Avda. Mayorazgo).

Along the way we'll take pauses to take in the views, snack on your favourite foods (byo!) and once we've reached the final area and are well hungry, we'll make our way back to familiar Centro Historico at around lunch time. Afterwards join us for lunch and drinks at one of the restaurant/bars at Plaza Merced (suggestions welcome!)

Our route will be approximately 4.5KM and normally takes 1h30m, but we'll add plenty of time for stops. This hike is suitable for anyone in good health and normal fitness. We will be walking mostly paved surfaces, but also some hiking paths, climbing up unpaved/gravel trails for short spans etc. so keep this in mind and pick appropriate footwear. Participation is completely free, but also fully at your own risk.
Please make sure you feel fit and wear shoes that allow you to make those climbs. If unsure, I will provide you the route details on request beforehand.
