Fly to Kochi for a 14 day tour of the South of India including the backwaters.
We leave London from Gatwick flying with Qatar Airways. This two week adventure offers a great balance of guided excursions and free time to explore on your own. Travelling by train, bus, rickshaw, and country boats will bring you closer to the locals and is a fascinating way to gain insight into the peaceful backwaters of Kerala and stunning temples of Tamilnadu.
We'll visit places like the ancient city of Mysore, Pondicherry, Madurai the Kerala backwaters. Enjoy a kathakali dance show, visit the Meenakshi temple, spice and tea plantations.
South India part of the tour includes 1 breakfast, 2 lunches and 2 dinners.
Please note one night is spent in a homestay with a family
After 14 days we will fly to Delhi for a 7 day tour. We will be visiting Jaipur the pink city and the Hawa Mahal the Palace of the Winds, enjoying an optional Jaipur cooking class, visiting Jantar Mantar observatory to see how the ancient Indians looked at stars and planets, Amber Fort besides the perfectly reflecting Maota Lake, Fatehpur Sikri, once the capital of India's Mughal Empire and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Agra Fort, an impressive Mughal fort made of red sandstone and white marble. We'll visit a Dhulla village and get a closer look at rural life in Rajasthan.
On day 8 we will fly to Kathmandu in Nepal for our Nepalese adventure.
Here we will visit Patan Durbur Square which was built primarily in the 16th and 17th centuries. South of the square lies the Kumari Chowk, home to Nepal's living goddess. Visit the royal city of Bhaktapur, and the Bodhnath Stupa. Enjoy a cooking demonstration and learn how to make Nepalese momos (dumplings). We travel by car to beautiful Pokhara set on the shores of Phewa Lake and Immerse yourself in the views of the spectacular Annapurna Range. Leaving Pokhara behind we'll set off for Chitwan National Park an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy an overnight cultural experience with the indigenous Tharu community. Experience their culture through dance and song, along with a traditional meal in the familial dining area. Explore the national park by 4x4 safari before a guided half-day walk inside the park. Cycle through the villages of Chitwan.
We'll drive back to Kathmandu before flying back to London Heathrow.
We'll be staying 11 nights in a hotel, 1 night in a comfortable tent and 2 nights in a guesthouse. For this part of the tour 1 lunch and 1 dinner is included.

The departure date is 4th May 2024 to 2nd June 2024
The cost is £3938 per person

This trip can also be done without the South Indian section.
