How AI Coding Agents actually work

The talk:
Claude Code, MCP, Tools, Hooks, Skills... OMG!AI coding agents are everywhere, but the jargon is piling up fast. Claude Code, MCP, tools, hooks, skills, system prompts, context windows... what does it all actually mean, and how do the pieces fit together?
In this session, we'll cut through the buzzwords and look at what really happens when a coding agent works on your behalf. Using the open-source Coding Agent Explorer, we'll observe a live coding agent in action and watch the actual API calls, tool invocations, MCP traffic, and hook events as they happen in real time.
You'll walk away with a solid mental model of how a coding agent actually works, from the first prompt to the final code change, and the confidence to reason about these tools rather than just trust the magic.
