What happens at each meeting:
Before we meet up:
Each writer can sign up to have their work (up to 3,000 words) critiqued.
Only submit one work per writer per meeting. No multiple submissions. Please upload your piece at least 1 week before our next meet-up. On the first page of your work, please write the following information:
- Genre (fantasy, sci-fi, horror, blended genres, etc)
- Which draft are you presenting (e.g., first, second, etc)
- Word count (no more than 3,000 words)
- What type of support would you like (e.g., help with plot, setting, characters, etc)
Every Meetup:
At the beginning of each meeting, we will welcome all new members. If you are a new member, please share a little about yourself and your writing journey. If possible (but not required), share your expectations with us. For example, in what ways can our group support your writing?
We will spend around 10 minutes on each writer's story, with a max of 5 pieces critiqued per meeting. Please read our community's Critique Group Guidelines before you respond to each written piece. We do not critique spelling or do line edits or developmental edits. Please focus on the type of help each writer is asking for.
