About us

Do you enjoy creative writing? Looking for fun activities to jog your inspiration after a long week at work or school? Join this group to build your creative confidence with low-pressure prompt writing exercises in a friendly, casual environment with other amateur writers. Get constructive feedback on your current works in progress and brainstorm fresh ideas. Because this group is still new, I'm open to feedback on how to structure meetings, what activities you'd like to incorporate, where/when to meet, etc.

A few ground rules (subject to change):

1. The group is open to all writers aged 16 and above.

2. Keep any pieces shared during critique or prompt exercises rated PG-13 or lower.

3. To maintain a lighthearted, welcoming environment, pieces shared during critique or prompt exercises should avoid heavy/polarizing topics (i.e. suicide, sexual assault, etc.)**

4. Feedback given during meetings should be constructive in tone. Not everyone will enjoy the same genres, prose styles, topics, or plot tropes. However, please respect other writers' individual expression and refrain from putting down another's work based on personal preferences.

5. If bringing work to critique, print out clean copies for every member of the group. Limit the length of critique pieces to 2,000-3,000 words per session.

6. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated while other writers are sharing work.

7. Treat other members with kindness regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender/sex, etc. Goes without saying!

**This rule will likely be tweaked depending on the comfort level of group members.

See you soon!
