Mamaya Health: Support Group for Parents of Kids with Disabilities

Group Description (for Meetup):
Raising a child with a disability is a journey filled with fierce love, advocacy, emotional ups and downs—and often, isolation. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

The Mamaya Health Support Group for Parents of Kids with Disabilities is a virtual, peer-led space for parents who are supporting children with physical, developmental, intellectual, emotional, or neurodiverse needs. This group offers connection, community, and compassionate support from others who get it.

We meet once a month for a 1-hour session, creating space for honest conversation, emotional check-ins, and tools to help you care for yourself while caring for your child.

Topics may include:
• Navigating IEPs, therapies, and healthcare systems
• Emotional overwhelm, burnout, and self-care
• Celebrating progress (big and small)
• Grief, guilt, acceptance, and advocacy
• Building a support network that truly understands

Who this group is for: Parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, neurodiversity, or complex medical needs
Where we meet: Online (Zoom)
How often: 3rd Wednesdays of Each Month at 6pm CST
Cost: Free

You’re showing up in big, powerful ways for your child every day. This group is a space to show up for you, too. Come as you are—we’re here to walk this path with you.
