Building an Autonomous Team

With models from Zappos, Netflix, Apple, Basecamp, « autonomy » is fashionable. But as often, while perceived as good, it is rarely a feature of the teams we see around us.

As a manager/leader in technology, it is our responsibility to create an environment where autonomy is possible and encouraged.

So let’s talk a bit about what autonomy is, how to grow it, and what’s the role of the manager in this process.
