From Input to Impact: How Your Data Shapes AI and the World

Details
***Address Change***
Manchester AI is an exciting in person event within the city centre. It is a frequent meet up of all local talent within the Data Science and Machine Learning Community.
This is a community building event where everyone from junior engineers to leaders & managers can come, and meet people within the same industry and listen to entertaining & informative talks.
We have 2 exciting talks at our event from:
Thomas Manandhar Richardson - Director of Research & Director of Data & AI- "Making the world a better place using your data and AI skills"
This talk will feature a little bit about his journey from private consultancy into non-profits, to becoming a director of data and AI at a non-profit. The main focus is about how everyone can get involved in using their data skills to make the world a better place.
Sarah Schlobohm - Chief AI Officer - "Garbage In, Bias Out: Why Data Shapes How AI Works"
Machine learning models can only be as good as the data they are built on. If the data is incomplete, narrow, or biased, the model will be too—no matter how advanced the algorithms are. In this session, we'll explore why data collection is a critical part of building robust, reliable AI. We'll also invite you to contribute to a live dataset to show how gathering a wider range of real-world input helps models perform better for everyone.
The event will be held at:
47 Lloyd St, Manchester M2 5LE
