Sunday stroll around Hadfield and the Longdendale Valley

Details

New joiners welcome!

Our monthly easy walk returns for May. This month we head to Hadfield and explore a disused railway before walking around some of the reservoirs in the beautiful Longdendale valley. A great way to experience the grandeur of the hills without actually climbing them :)

These walks are designed to be suitable for people with no walking experience or specialised clothing. Also anyone who just fancies an easier walk for a change, all are welcome.

FAQs:

What to wear? Any walking boots or trainers are okay, provided you don’t mind if they get a little muddy!

Can I bring a dog? Dogs are welcome on a short lead, see https://www.madwalkers.org.uk/about-us/policies/dogs-on-walks-policy/ for details.

Can I drive to the walk start? You’re more than welcome to meet us at Hadfield station — just make sure to arrive before the train.

Should I bring food? Please bring a packed lunch - there will be a lunch break around midday.

Many of our members are not on Meetup, so the RSVP list will be smaller than the total number of attendees. Typically around 30 people join each walk, so there's plenty of people to chat with.
