Dunham Massey Semi Circular
Details
Suitable for new walkers! 🥾
A nearly-circular walk between Altrincham and Dunham Massey to hopefully spot some deer. Paths should be reasonable throughout but expect mud!
We’ll start at Timperley tram stop, meeting on the Altrincham-bound platform. The Bridgewater Canal leads us towards Dunham Massey. Around halfway through, we’ll have a short stop for snacks near the cafe. Return to Altrincham via Denzell Gardens.
The walk should be around 3h30 in total, with the aim to find a suitable pub in Altrincham for an optional post-walk drink.
Haters of linear walks, fear not! Timperley to Altrincham is only a 30 minute walk or short tram journey.
This walk will be led by Ed Cooper. It is graded Slight/Leisurely: Walks for reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are recommended.
FAQs:
What to wear? Walking boots/shoes are recommended as paths are expected to be muddy. Bring waterproofs and warm clothing.
A hot flask with your favourite drink is always a good idea this time of year. Bring enough water, some snacks and/or food for lunch.
Can I bring a dog? Dogs are welcome on a short lead, see https://www.madwalkers.org.uk/about-us/policies/dogs-on-walks-policy/ for details.
Many of our members are not on Meetup, so the RSVP list will be smaller than the total number of attendees. Typically around 30 people join each walk, so there's plenty of people to chat with.
