About us
WELCOME TO MANCHESTER PUBS AND BEER
Hello and welcome to the Manchester Pubs and Beer Group!
YOUR GROUP
This is the group for anyone who likes to visit pubs and who appreciates our unique pub heritage. We try to arrange a wide variety of events which don't just concentrate on the popular bars in the obvious areas of town.
Manchester Pubs and Beer is certainly the group for you if you enjoy trying different beers, ciders and perrys, but also if you prefer wine, cocktails, soft drinks or whatever and enjoy trying different pubs and bars in different places.
YOUR EVENTS
Each month we have a FIRST FRIDAY SOCIAL on...the first Friday of the month! We try to have one DAY OUT each month to somewhere within easy travelling distance of Manchester.
We also have other pub crawls, pub quiz visits and of course visits to beer and cider festivals.
YOUR SUGGESTIONS
Members are welcome to suggest and host events. Pop a short note into the Discussions area of the Meetup site.
YOUR FACEBOOK GROUP
We have a companion Manchester Pubs and Beer Facebook group which all are welcome to join, where we can share ideas about events, pub, beer and other related news.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/245317432877212/
There is also a WhatsApp group: ask about this when you attend an event.
BEHAVIOUR STANDARDS
The group is for people who enjoy sensible drinking, enjoy beer and enjoy pubs. There are few rules other than that you are old enough to drink legally, but we expect members to treat each other and the places we visit with respect and courtesy at all times. Abusive behaviour of any type, whether at events, in comments on the site or other social media will not be tolerated. Repeated instances will result in suspension from, or removal from, the group.
As with other Meetup groups, the aim is to bring people together with a common interest. The Meetup group and Meetup itself take no responsibility for members' actions- you participate in events entirely at your own risk!
Do take a look at our forthcoming events and RSVP to any you'd like to come along to. A warm welcome awaits!
Cheers!

Monton Village Meander., Monthly 🍃🌳🦢🦆🍂🍃🦊🐿️🍂
Blossoms Bistro by La Turka, 168 Monton Road, Eccles, Eccles, GBHi everyone,
Come along with me and other social group members to the delightful Monton Village, in Eccles, for drinks and/or Sunday lunch out there too.
I've put this on from 1 pm, with a view to setting out for our walk from 2 pm instead or thereabouts, as I it's a relaxed, informal event, no one's under any pressure to be there, bang on 1 pm., some of us have to rely on public transport and it can sometimes be a bit unpredictable, at times I know so between 1 and 2 pm, is fine.
Setting out from 2 pm; we can discuss over lunch where we're heading too prior, albeit into Worsley, the Trafford Centre, Albert's on the East Lancs, Swinton or a near full circular walk, that will bring us into the centre of Eccles after, whereby there's a lovely, oldy world pub along the way, that does hearty meals in there too.., the King's Head, on Barton Lane. From there, it's not too far a walk into Eccles, where there's a Weatherspoons facing the tram stop, which in turn is facing Eccles Interchange, for journeys home for us all after as well.
I recommend bringing a bottle of water and dress according to the weather. Autumn / winter months put layers on you can remove, as you're walking along, as in particular, once in the Trafford Centre say, it can get awfully warm in there, when it's very busy. In warmer months, my health walk can go ahead if it isn't too hot, don't bother about layering, asides from sun cream, shoulders covered, with sunglasses, a hat worn perhaps and a bottle of water, a must!!!
When the ground is nothing but dry, canal-side is nice in warmer months.
If we're returning back and it's gone night time, I'd say yes to bringing a hand-held torch, as returning pavement side only, they're still useful for more dimly lit areas, much better than your mobile phone can provide.
A bottle of water is helpful,My health walk is suitable for all fitness levels and there's no, or very little inclines we have to tackle, not with my knees permitting at my age anyhow! Health walk 3-4 miles and there again, just what we all agree on together, come and go as you like to this event, on the day.
Come along, meet new people and make some new friends. We'll work as a team and we'll all make a great team together too!
Thanks and see you all soon.
