We’ll be joined by Rioch Brewer, Head of Data Insight at AJ Bell.
Rioch will be sharing his talk, “Lessons learned in delivering our first data science models,” drawing on real-world experience from projects across portfolio risk measurement, churn modelling, and price anomaly detection.
In this session, he’ll cover:
- Starting simple vs. designing a more complex solution
- Generating value even when data signals are weak
- Future plans: Analytics vs. Data Science vs. MLOps
- The importance of support structures, including project management, templates, and sprints

Now, refreshments! Drinks and pizza will be served from 6pm. Talks will commence at 6:30pm/6:45pm and the event will conclude at 8:30pm.
The conversation will continue after the event at a local pub TBC – obviously!
