Korfball taster session - Manchester Korfball Club
Details
Korfball is a mixed team sport, similar to netball and basketball (woman only 'mark' women and men only 'mark' men) and originates in the Netherlands. Whether you’re looking to keep fit socially, play a competitive team sport, make new friends or simply have some fun, korfball is a sport for everyone!
Our social sessions are the perfect introduction to korfball and experienced players and coaches will be on hand to show you the basics of the sport. The sessions will start with a warm-up and then you’ll do some skills exercises and play a game at the end. Everyone is welcome and you don’t need to have played (or heard of!) korfball before. We actually run these tasters alongside our wider club sessions so if there are only a couple of people on the event, please don't let it put you off as there will be plenty more friendly faces down at the sessions.
You don’t need any special equipment, just turn up in normal gym kit with a decent pair of trainers and a bottle of water, plenty of enthusiasm and ready to join in.
If you enjoy korfball, we’d love for you to come to more of our sessions and start playing matches if / when you’re ready. Outside of the korfball, we have an active social community and regularly meet up to eat out, play tennis, go running, hike up hills and all sorts of other activities.
Most of all, we want you to have fun!
