What we're about

Beginners to experienced artists welcome. Looking for a fresh creative approach to life drawing? Looking for a small friendly group? Need to add a bit of creative fun and experimentation to your life drawing?

We meet on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, 6.30 - 8.30pm.
1st Tuesday: Short poses, movement + quick studies up to about 20-30 mins.
2nd Tuesday: Draped or costumed figure - usually 2 or 3 poses per session.
3rd Tuesday: Long poses either 2 per session or a single pose all evening.
4th Tuesday: Portrait model (clothed). same pose all session, or over 2 sessions.
5th Tuesday: Begin Life drawing: tutored class for beginners and improvers.

This group is for Life Drawers of all experience levels - even first timers - who want to create drawings that show a bit of their personality, play with techniques, materials and mix-things-up a bit. There's a social side too - you're welcome to stay behind after, share experiences, view everyone's drawings, offer tips and advice to those looking for guidance and enjoy the tea, coffee and chocolate biscuits.

Based in my art studio at 'Creative Art Courses' (www.creativeartcourses.org), I encourage a more creative, experimental and fun approach to life drawing. I keep the group small up to a maximum of 12 artists.

Of course it's great to practice our measuring techniques, use perspective correctly, get proportions right, shade, blend and get a likeness. But it's not everything - our sessions are a chance to play with materials and try out new ideas in a safe creative environment full of support and encouragement.
