What we’re about
We are Manchester activists who want fair and equal voting in our General Elections.
We run democracy-focused events in Manchester including educational and outreach stalls to chat to folks about our work to make voting fairer, as well as rallies, marches, and MP engagement events.
We are cross-party and we welcome folks of all political beliefs. It's not about telling you who to vote for, but fighting to make everyone's vote count.
We are a local branch of Make Votes Matter - the cross-party campaign for Proportional Representation in the House of Commons.

See all- Rally for Real DemocracyManchester Central Library , Manchester M2 5PD
The 2024 election saw millions of people left without a voice in Parliament. Six in 10 people are now represented by an MP they did not vote for. The 2025 local elections reinforced what we already know: our democracy is broken.
On the weekend 4-6 July 2025 - one year since the most disproportional general election in British history - people across the country will take action for real democracy.
In Manchester, we're holding a rally in St Peter's Square on Saturday 5th July, across from the statue of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. There will be inspiring speakers, joyful entertainment, and hopefully sunshine as we follow the footsteps of 200 years of citizens gathering to demand for their vote to count and their voice to be heard!
We demand:
- No more First Past the Post elections.
- A proportional system where seats match votes.
