What we’re about
Hi! I'm planning to meet new friends while trying out some of Manchester's bars, clubs and other cool places. I want the group to be an opportunity to meet people, see some of Manchester, perhaps see some live singers and DJs and possibly try out the newer places that are recently opened. More to the point I want people to be able to form new friendships in the city.
The emphasis in this group is more about staying out late, in contrast to the 7-11pm type meetups, of which there are plenty. Nothing wrong with them, but this one will be different.

Daytime Disco with The Shapeshifters
YES, 38 Charles St, Greater Manchester, GBWho remembers Lola's Theme from 2004? A house music classic I think you'll agree (if you're of a certain age like me). Producers The Shapehifters created the track and defined the sound of that particular summer. I've been trying to see these guys DJ for decades, and keep missing the opportunity. Thankfully, Manchester club Joshua Brooks are hosting them at the end of the month as part of their Daytime Disco theme. No need for taxis, lie-ins, kebab shops or freezing midnight queues. This one's 3pm-8:30pm. Meeting in nearby Yes bar. Tickets are on final release at £17. Buy fast!

La Discotheque: House Music in IDRA
Location not specified yetA nice early afternoon of house music? Sounds good to me! New exhibition space IDRA hosts La Discotheque, marking 'A Decade of Disco.' Among the lineup: Horsemeat Disco and Miguel Campbell (Something Special). First release tickets are £30.50 but they will go up.
I've not been to this club yet and I see it's on the outskirts a little bit. We need a walkable meeting spot nearby so we can go in together - anyone have any suggestions?2 attendees
