Cocktails in The Washhouse

One of Manchester's best secret bars is The Washhouse on the edge of The Printworks. at a glance, it appears to be a laundrette. There's a phone on the wall to communicate with inside. 'How many items?' the receptionist will ask. Tell her how many people are in your group, and she'll let you in. Step through the washing-machine-facade door, and enter a world of quirky, bizarre cocktails and personalised service.

There is no actual laundry, to be clear.

I went years ago, pre-pandemic, so I expect all the cocktails have been updated. Great fun, though. Let's meet in the nearby Roxy Ballroom. Used to be Birdcage.

After that we'll skip Printworks, but there are a handful of other better cocktail bars in that area.
