Manchester R Meetup! Feb 2025.

Details

------ Welcome, Manchester R Users! ------
Welcome!

As before, the event will be brought to you by Datacove. We are a Data and Analytics Consultancy Team based in Brighton, working across Customer Analytics, Shiny and Reporting, Marketing Analytics (MMMs and more) and Process Automation.

We will be supported by the generous team at Better Placed, at Colony, Ayton Street, Manchester. Hosted by Abbie Brookes and Jeremy Horne from Datacove.

------ Talks ------
For our first speaker, we are thrilled to be hosting Colin Gillespie, CTO at Jumping Rivers.

Colin will be sharing his talk 'Should I use your package?'. Trusting an R package means assessing its safety and suitability for your work. This talk explores how trust and risk differ across fields, from academic research to clinical trials or government work. Defining trust comes down to understanding your risk tolerance and making informed choices.

More information on talks coming soon.

Please contact admin@datacove.co.uk if you'd like to speak.

------ General Information ------
Now, refreshments! Drinks and pizza will be served from 6pm. Talks will commence at 6:30pm/6:45pm and the event will conclude at 8:30pm. The conversation will continue after the event at a local pub.

If you didn't already have a million reasons to come, there will be (free!) R Merchandise kindly sent by Posit themselves.

------ Registration Etiquette ------
At our meetups, the nibbles and drinks are generously provided by Datacove and/or external sponsors. We’re committed to keeping these events free and accessible for everyone, but to make that possible, we need your help. Please ensure your registration is kept up to date so we can avoid unnecessary food waste. If your plans change, simply update your RSVP to reflect your availability. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Please feel free to register guests and spread the word. We look forward to seeing you all again!
