Joe Shaw, Clinical Scientist at North West Genomic Laboratory Hub

Talk: Developing new cancer tests for NHS patients with R

Joe is a Clinical Scientist at the North West Genomic Laboratory Hub, where he uses R to support the development of new cancer tests that aid diagnosis and treatment. In his talk, he will explore how R helps ensure these tests are accurate, monitored over time, and documented in a transparent, reproducible way. He’ll also share how packages like tidyverse, shiny, and devtools are applied in developing tests for brain tumours.

Now, refreshments! Drinks and pizza will be served from 6pm. Talks will commence at 6:30pm/6:45pm and the event will conclude at 8:30pm.

The conversation will continue after the event at a local pub TBC – obviously!
