About us
Welcome to Manchester Shinty Club Meetups — a growing shinty hub in the North West of England.
Shinty (or Camanachd) is a fast‑paced Scottish stick sport played on grass, sharing similarities with hurling and hockey.
Whether you’re curious, returning to the sport, or completely new, you’re welcome here.
We play in mixed teams, and all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels are encouraged to join in.
We host a training session and social event once a month on Saturdays based at Turn Moss Playing Fields in Streford.
Interested in giving it a go?
Follow this group for updates on training sessions, matches, socials, and community events such as Ceilidhs!
Feel free to DM for more details and let the organisers know if you need to borrow kit — we’re always happy to help new players get started.
