8 mile circular walk from Walsden Station to Freeholds Top and back!

The route will takes us up to the hills between Rochdale, Rossendale and the Calder Valley from Walsden Train station. Just under 8 miles and 480m of ascent. Refreshments at The Mill Venue.

The intention is to offer car shares from The Metropolitan in West Didsbury from 9:30am. I can offer three seats but if you have a vehicle which can offer more or would like a lift, post below. Meet close to the car park entrance.

We'll set off from Walsden Station at 11:10am promptly. I'll bring a South Manchester Social sign, so look out for that. We'll wait on the platform at which the 11:04 train from Manchester Victoria (leaves 10:30ish) will arrive.

Terrain will be fine with a dog if they can manage the distance but please keep them on a lead at all times.

I've done these trails before but about 10 years ago. Backtracking may be involved. It'll be an adventure! I am not a professional guide. I'm just going for a walk and wondered if anyone would like to join me.
