Whitworth Art Gallery visit

As well as the usual displays, there are currently two exhibitions taking place:

Beneath the Great Wave:
Hokusai and Hiroshige

Step into Japan’s floating world and explore the art of Hokusai and Hiroshige, two visionary artists whose images have shaped how we see nature, landscape and everyday life.

Michaela Yearwood-Dan: The Practice of Liberation

Bringing painting, ceramics and sound together into a multidimensional installation, Yearwood-Dan creates a powerfully resonant space dedicated to the ongoing practice of self-transformation and movement towards liberation.

To get a deeper insight into the Whitworth’s gallery and park, we can join the 45 minute guided tour if it's running, (we'll only know for sure on the day if a tour is actually scheduled). Led by a member of the Visitor Team, the daily tours alternate between a more detailed look at the current exhibitions and works on display, and an escape to the outdoors to share the stories of Whitworth Park.
