AI Coding Tools Discussion

Details
After the success of the event recently at Umbraco Leeds we have decided to run the same event in Manchester.
AI coding assistants are changing how developers work—helping with everything from unfamiliar projects to debugging and performance improvements. In this session, we’ll look at several leading tools.
- Ali Graham: Explore how GitHub Copilot can help you with projects you don’t know, speed up onboarding, and improve performance, security, and readability. It’s not just about writing code for you.
- Phil Whittaker: Learn about Claude Code, an agentic, terminal-first coding assistant that brings the power of advanced Claude models directly into your workflow. Whether you’re fixing bugs, generating features from descriptions, or managing complex codebases, it works right where you work—your shell.
- Ollie Picton: A quick-fire tour of how we use Cursor from Playwright wizardry and Umbraco MCP magic to the rules that keep it all running smoothly (ish)
