### Train-based walk

Leader: Imelda & Ian
Ascent: 700 metres/ 2297ft
Difficulty: Strenuous
Distance: 16.1km / 10.0mi

Type: circular

Overview
This walk originally took place in June and was well received so it will be repeated, by request.
This is an interesting walk featuring history , great views and two climbs of 350 metres (hence the high figure for total ascent).
As Todmorden is in a valley there is always lots of variety climbing and dropping down again. The route undulates through woodland, fields, moors and mud, reservoirs and rocks, springs and stones. We pass through Gorpley Clough to see the colours of Autumn and go through many pretty hamlets, returning to Todmorden via the Wizard of Whirlaw Stone.
There are some stiles on this route and some steps along Gorpley Clough.

Boots are advised for this walk as the route may be muddy.

Please bring waterproofs and packed lunch.
