This walk is fairly easy walking along towpaths and tracks, and follows the rivers Croal and Irwell, and the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal through attractive countryside that was once a thriving industrial area.
We see the surviving remains of transport from these busy days, including a number of canal milestones, a flight of six locks, an iconic steam crane, two impressive pack horse bridges and an aqueduct.
Meet Point: On the Metrolink platform at Victoria Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the tram, or at the Walk Start at Radcliffe Metrolink station.
Transport to Walk Start: 10:17 / 10:23 tram from Manchester Victoria (Bury Line)
Suggested Ticket: Metrolink Ticket to cover all zones 1 - 4
Walk Start: Radcliffe Metrolink Station at 11:00

Return Services: Trams every 6 minutes
