This is a shortened version of the 9 mile walk taking place on this day.
The walk follows the same route upto Ernocroft where it takes an alternative shorter route back to Marple, via Mill Brow and Hollins Lane.
The route follows canal paths, a muddy downhill section, river paths and country lanes.

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Marple Station.

Transport to Walk Start: 09:48 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Marple. This will be a busy train going to Sheffield via Edale, so get on as soon as it arrives at the platform.

Suggested Ticket: Off-Peak Day Return to Marple £7:30.

Walk Start: At the car park at Marple Station at 10:20 (5 minutes after the longer walk)

Waypoints: Marple Locks, Aqueduct, Lower Watermeetings Farm, Etherow Country Park, Ernocroft, Gird Lane, Mill Brow, Hollins Lane

Extra: There may be toilets at Marple Station. Assume no toilet on the train. There are toilets at around 2 and 3 miles. Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs).
