Bus based walk (Rail replacement and Regular)

This shortish circular walk packs a bit of a punch in the early stages, as we climb from Hayfield using the Snake Path onto open moorland. The walk is then mostly undulating, following good paths and bridleways, until another sharp climb to the summit of Lantern Pike. We then decend to follow the Sett Valley Trail back to Hayfield.
Some paths are likely to be muddy in places so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

Meet Point: At the rail replacement bus stop at Manchester Piccadilly. Alternatively, meet the group at Stockport bus station, or at the Walk Start at Hayfield bus station.

Transport to Walk Start: 09:35 rail replacement bus from Manchester Piccadilly to Stockport, then 10:35 358 bus from Stockport to Hayfield

Suggested Ticket: Off Peak Stockport return £6.20 / £2 single bus fare to Hayfield

Walk Start: Hayfield bus station at 11.30

Return Services: 1 bus an hour from Hayfield to Stockport. Regular rail replacement buses back to Manchester from Stockport

Extra: Toilets at walk start. No en route. Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs)
