This circular walk from Newhey Metrolink station takes in multiple reservoirs, historic quarry workings and superb views over the Piethorne Valley and the surrounding hills.
There are a few climbs, with one particularly narrow steep path so good footwear must be worn.
Please bring lunch and a hot drink

Meet Point: On the Metrolink platform at Victoria Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the tram, or at the Walk Start at Newhey Metrolink Station.

Transport to Walk Start: 10:40am tram on the Rochdale line to the walk start

Suggested Ticket: Metrolink Zone 1-4 ticket

Walk Start: Newhey Metrolink Station at 11:30

Return Services: Trams to Victoria every 12 minutes

Waypoints: Haugh Hamlet, Woodside, Ogden Reservoir, Kitcliffe Reservoir, Piethorne Reservoir, Cold Greave, Rooden Reservoir, Knowsley Plantation, Piethorne Reservoir, Turf hill, Ogden Reservoir, Huddersfield Road.

Extra: No toilets at walk start. No toilets en-route.
Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs)
