This is the first in a series of easy Sunday Social walks along the Mersey Valley, designed to be accessible by bus and metrolink.
Starting at Stockport Interchange, we will follow the Mersey until Didsbury, where we will go through Fletcher Moss Gardens. If you have been good we will stop there and you will be allowed ice cream.😉Hopefully, the coffee van will also be open at the bottom of Vale Road, Heaton Mersey.
Those who wish can come along for refreshments/social drinks in Didsbury Village afterwards.

Meet Point: At Stockport Interchange. By the lifts at Stand A.

Transport to Walk Start: The 192 runs every 10 minutes from Piccadilly Gardens and takes around 30 minutes.

There are frequent train from Manchester Piccadilly to Stockport, but the cheapest will be the 11:03 which will arrive at 11:12. It is a short walk from Stockport Station to the Interchange, there is a walkway part way down Station Road on the left, before you get to McDonalds.

Suggested Ticket: There are too many options to be able to recommend the best, it all depends on where you are coming from.

Walk Start: At Stockport Interchange at 11:30

Waypoints: Stockport Interchange, Mersey Valley Nature Park, Burnage Rugby Club, Cheadle Bridge, Waterside Hotel, Millgate, Fletcher Moss Park, Didsbury Village

Return Services: Metrolink from Didsbury Village (every 15 minutes), the 142/42 bus (at least every 10 minutes) along Wilmslow Road into Manchester, the 23 bus (every 30 minutes) to Chorlton/Stretford/Urmston/Trafford Centre, or the 23//42 to Stockport.

Extra: There are toilets at Stockport Interchange. The toilets at Fletcher Moss gardens may be open! Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs).
