We will start the walk by passing Rochdale;s impressive Town Hall with a possible brief visit inside. We then pass through the Memorial Garden and into an underpass to the iconic seven sisters. Then along the river Spodden viewing lots of industrial heritage including the infamous asbestos factory, now in a very bad and dangerous state of decay. Eventually we come to Healey Dell itself and the tea rooms for a lunch stop .
After lunch we walk along the river Spodden again as It crashes through the Dell .Then onwards and upwards to the Pennine Bridleway and back on ourselves .The route back is along a dissued railway track through Syke and back into Rochdale..
Refreshments, if required will be at The Baume pub & restaurant .Walkers going straight back to the station will be directed.

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform at Manchester Victoria Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Rochdale Station.

***Please note*** There is no Metrolink service to Rochdale on this date.
