What philosophical issues are there in the news? Amazingly plenty to ponder! Moral or immoral? Legal or fair? Political intrigue or a re run of the Ides of March? How would Socrates see our modern world? Let by Peter.

Manchester Armchair Philosophers meet every Tuesday evening at the The Royal Oak M21 0BQ upstairs at 7.30 pm.

You are welcome to join in our discussion or just listen. If you want to present just have a chat with Peter next time.
We need to pay for photocopying etc., so please make a donation of £3 if you are unwaged, £4 if you are waged. We are expected to buy a drink at the bar, if not its an extra £1.
Looking forwards to seeing you for a prompt start at 7.30. .
Our rules
Whenever we engage in an intellectual discussion, our goal ought to be to converge on the truth.
We can all promote reason by changing the mores of intellectual discussion, so people treat their beliefs as hypotheses to be tested rather than slogans to be defended. Whilst you may disagree with some ideas, we are here to have a civilised debate.
To summarise, listen and be kind to each other. Enjoy your evening!
