The Startup Roundtable
Building together. Learning together. Growing together.

About this event
Building a startup is isolating. You're making decisions with incomplete information, usually alone, and the people around you mostly don't get it.
This is a room full of people who do.

The Startup Roundtable is a relaxed, high-value get-together for people actively building a company or seriously developing an idea. It started as a small group of founders, some currently raising, some who've raised before, meeting over coffee to share what's actually working. It's grown into something worth opening up to the wider Manchester community.
Open, honest conversations about what it really takes to build: shaping ideas, finding co-founders, navigating accelerators and funding routes, and surviving the early growth problems nobody warns you about.

No pitches. No panels. No sales agendas. Just founders helping founders move forward.

What we cover
Each session is guided but informal, so conversation flows where the room needs it:

  • Developing and validating startup ideas
  • Raising funding: bootstrapping, angels, VCs, grants
  • Accelerators and incubators, and which are actually worth it
  • Finding co-founders and early team members
  • Lessons learned, mistakes made, and wins worth sharing
  • Tools and resources founders actually use

Everyone contributes. This is a table, not a stage.

Who it's for

  • Founders currently building
  • Solo founders developing an idea
  • Early-stage teams, pre-seed and seed
  • Builders looking for co-founders or collaborators
  • Anyone serious about turning an idea into a real company

Community and solidarity
Startups grow stronger together. Every startup that joins gets added to our Founders Banner, showcasing the companies being built inside the network. Visibility, solidarity, and proof that no founder here is building alone.
