For our first meetup of 2017, we have Neil Stevenson, Solutions Architect at Hazelcast, who will be giving a talk on

"Hazelcast for the cloud, with Spring Boot, Atomist and Eureka",

Level: Intermediate

Presenter Bio: http://lanyrd.com/profile/neilstevenson/bio/

Details of the talk as from Neil:

"The main focus of this talk will be a whirlwind introduction to Hazelcast, an open-source Java-based in-memory data-grid. I'll do a live demo to show you how easy it is to get going with simple and familiar Java items such as Maps, Atomics, Runnables and more, to simply develop a clustered, scalable and resilient application with minimal effort.

I'll start the demo by pairing with Atomist, and getting Spring Boot to do the hard work, showing how the two tools together make life simpler for Hazelcast and Java developers.

But to show there is substance to all this, we'll end by adding Eureka into the mix, a real world tool frequently used on cloud deployments for centralised configuration, showing how Hazelcast can use this to pick up details that it needs."
