[Social] Mahjong / Big2 / Board Games in Central Park

Casual social event at Burnaby Central Park south picnic area for speakers of all languages! You're encouraged to bring drinks/snacks to share. Cups and eating utensils will be provided. Seating is limited, so bring your own lawn chair or stool if possible.

Mahjong is a complicated board game. Please come only if you have some basic concept of what it is. You don't need to know all the rules and strategies, but you should recognize all the tiles. This is not a Mahjong "demonstration", but an actual game play group striving to be more skillful. We will have a table for experienced players and a table for beginner/intermediate players, with game play guidance led by the host.

Big2 is a quick card game based off 5-card poker hands. Easy to learn, all skill levels welcomed.

You may bring other simple board or card games to share (ie. UNO). Please let us know in the comments.

Inside Central Park at the South Picnic Area, beside the Lower Pond near Imperial Street.

The South Picnic Area is inside Burnaby Central Park, beside the Lower Pond, west of the Pitch & Putt Golf course entrance building, north of Imperial Street, and beside the Imperial Street parking lot. We may be located in between trees so make sure you walk around the entire pond area and look for our Meetup sign. Arrive early to find the picnic spot. Call John if you are clearly lost.

If driving, there's limited parking near the Imperial Street parking lot or in the residential area south of Imperial Street. If taking transit, it is a 15 minute walk from Patterson Skytrain Station.
