About us
The Takoma Mandoleers is a non-profit mandolin and guitar orchestra based in Arlington, Virginia. Founded in 1923 in Takoma Park, Maryland, we are the longest continuously operating mandolin orchestra in the United States. Our mission is to enrich lives through joyful and musically diverse experiences, featuring the mandolin family, guitar, and bass.
Our repertoire reflects the rich versatility of the mandolin and guitar, ranging from classical and semi-classical works to jazz, folk, and contemporary pieces. We embrace both traditional and modern styles, offering audiences, of all sizes, a diverse and engaging musical experience.

Mandoleers Summer Workshop: America at 250
Clarendon United Methodist Church, 606 North Irving Street, Arlington, VA, USCalling all mandolin, mandola, mandocello, classical guitar and bass players!!! The Mandoleers 2026 workshop theme is "America at 250: We the People, All of Us." We look forward to sharing a fun weekend of music-making under the baton of our distinguished conductor, Ernesto Parets. The workshop will include full orchestra and small ensemble rehearsals, sectionals, social activities, food, camaraderie, and a culminating public performance.
