What we’re about
Welcome to our Social Anxiety Support & Connection group!
This is a safe, judgment-free space for anyone who struggles with social anxiety, shyness, or feeling nervous in social situations. We meet to share experiences, learn coping tools, and practice socializing at a pace that feels comfortable.
Whether you’re just starting to face your fears or looking for understanding friends, you’re welcome here — no pressure, no expectations, just kindness and support.
Personal Growth Focus
Do social situations make you anxious? You’re not alone.
Our group is for people who want to understand and manage their social anxiety while building confidence and connection. Through gentle conversations, shared experiences, and gradual exposure activities, we support each other in growing beyond fear. Every small step counts, and we celebrate them together.
Casual / Meetup-Friendly
This group is for anyone who experiences social anxiety and wants to connect with others who truly understand. We host relaxed meetups — sometimes virtual, sometimes in person — where you can chat, listen, and be yourself without pressure. Whether you’re here to make friends, find support, or just get out of the house, you’ll find a welcoming community waiting for you.

Manhattan Bi weekly Social Anxiety Group @ Brookfield Place
Location not specified yetThis support group will be held at Brookfield place and will be broken up into small groups to abide by social distancing guidelines and please wear a mask to the event to protect everyone. We will be on the second level by "Hudson Eats"(the food court) in the back by the Sushi Bar. Look for a meetup sign with "SA Meetup" written on it on one of the tables. Text/call Richard at (917)576-4660 if needed. The purpose of the support group is to provide an environment where we can share our struggles with shyness and social anxiety. There is no magic solution to your struggle. Different techniques works with different people. The important thing is that you make an effort and do something. The way I run Sunday support group depends on the size and dynamics of the group. Typically is as follows: 1) I give out an index card to each person and you will write down a topic that you would like to discuss. A topic that need to be related to shyness and social anxiety. It can be something that you have been struggling with, or it can be a recent incident that triggered your anxiety. I will collect the index cards once everyone has finished writing down a topic. 2) We will start with 2 minute of self-introduction where you share something about yourself with everyone such as interest, hobbies or passion. 3) I will pass the stack of index with the topics to the person to my left. He/she will take an index card off the stack either in random or pick his/her own card. He/she will read the topic that is written on the index card out loud so everyone in the group can hear. He/she will talk about the topic base on his/her own experience. Everyone can contribute to the topic at this point. Once there are no further input on the topic, the stack of index will be passed to the next person. This process is repeated until we went to through all of the topic. 4) Come and go as you please. You don't need to speak, if you don't feel comfortable. I will do my best to facilitate the discussion and keep it on topic.
