This lecture will deal with the Biomimetic protocol for fracture removal and repair as well as restorative options and prognoses for fractured teeth.
If you missed the first Lecture, you will still be able to follow along, no problem. This course is good for 2 ADA CE credits.
The purpose of the ABD is to promote the use of adhesive chemistry to return teeth to original strain harmony (strength). The ABD believes that amputating tooth structure to achieve mechanical retention is scientifically invalid as a primary treatment modality.
This is a subject that is close to my heart.
It has revitalized me in terms of the way I practice dentistry.
Biomimetic Dentistry means 'mimicking life'.
We use materials and methodologies to preserve as much viable tooth as possible, decreasing the chances of root canal therapy and increasing the long term prognosis of teeth restored in this manner.
These protocols are more cost effective for the patient and patients are happier with their treatment.
Less is often more and less dentistry is often better dentistry for the patient.
Please feel free to visit the ABD website for more information.
