Gallagher's Steakhouse dinner 2.0
Details
Following the first Gallagher's dinner in April, I've booked a second version by popular demand. We can also accomodate a larger group
on a Monday night, thankfully. Details are as follows:
While not "ethnic," per se, Gallaghers' status as an iconic steakhouse makes it worth a visit - many thanks to longtime member Jason for recommending it. Founded by former "Ziegfield Follies" actress Helen Gallagher and the colorful sports enthusiast Jack Solomon, Gallaghers opened in 1927 as a speakeasy and steakhouse. At that time, the height of Prohibition, a good stiff drink and a great steak were hard to find in New York – except, of course, at Gallaghers.
New Yorkers come for the world-class cocktails and incredible steak – prime beef dry-aged for 21 days in Gallaghers’ legendary windowed meat locker. The combination of all-natural dry aging and cooking it to perfection over hickory coals makes for a steak unlike any other found in New York. Gallaghers’ guests are welcome in a wide variety of attire – from elegant casual to business suits. According to its website, "We respectfully request that you refrain from wearing hats, sports jerseys, tank tops and shorts."
