Do you love no-pressur elearning, short readings, and socializing in an intimate book club atmosphere?

Do you ever wonder why there are not social events in Manhattan on early Sunday evening (like, none at all)?

For those of us who who want to connect over short philosophical readings and discussions for cafe salons in the city, here's your opportunity to go out on the town for a nice way to wrap up the weekend routine.

This week (for October 12): Seneca's "On the Shortness of Life" (4 pages—I'll email it Friday to confirmed RSVPs)

Format:

  • 8:00-8:45pm: Facilitated discussion of the reading
  • 8:45-9:30pm: Open conversation
  • 9:30-10:00pm: Optional continuation for those who want to keep talking

What to expect: A small group (8-12 people max) discussing ideas that "matter" to us. No presentations, no networking pitches, no political debates—just thoughtful conversation with curious people. We don't judge or criticize people who share their thoughts; this is about open discussion and thinking, tied to the reading as it applies to our lifes, loves, and purpose each day.

  • Caffee Reggio at 119 MacDougal Street, New York, NY 10012
  • Look for the guy in a cardigan in the back room of the cafe.
  • Grab a drink if you want, no purchase required.
  • Reading will be emailed Friday to confirmed RSVPs.

Who should come: Anyone interested in discussing philosophy, relationships, meaning, and intimacy through a mix of ancient and modern texts. All genders, orientations, relationship statuses welcome.
First time attending? Perfect. Just RSVP and read the assignment.

Note: Please actually RSVP if you're coming so I can send Friday's reading. No-shows without RSVP won't receive future readings.
