Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra® Meditation with Sydney Cutler-Abich

Details

Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra® is a guided meditation that has the power to transform, heal and rejuvenate you at your core levels. Through body sensing, breath awareness, guided imagery and other practices, you are systematically guided on a journey through your whole being, from the outside inward. This inspired meditation practice will awaken your whole self, allowing you to uncover your inner bliss, and to live up to your fullest potential. Best of all, just 20 minutes in this deep meditative state is equivalent to 3 hours of sleep!

Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra® was developed by Jennifer Reis (E-RYTT 500, Kripalu RYTT director, Integrative Yoga Therapist, LMT and Ayurvedic Therapist) as a contemporary practice based on ancient yogic wisdom and meditation, to create a transformative tool for modern-day living.

What should you bring? Comfortable clothing including socks (feet can get very cold), yoga mat/any props for comfort. Water in a plastic container as the temperature is high during the summer months.

Bio:

As a clinical social worker practicing in high-stress environments for over fifteen years, I became chronically exhausted, drained, unhealthy, and disconnected from my family, friends, even my own Self! Desperate for any kind of help, I tried a Yoga Nidra meditation class, and, in time, experienced a total transformation in my ability to care for myself as well as my approach to life, career, and family. Practicing Yoga Nidra for the past several years has enabled me to experience greater inner peace, better sleep, improved health-- and to become more present in my every day life.

Inspired by my personal experiences practicing Yoga Nidra, I wanted to share this amazing practice in our community, and travelled to the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health to train with Jennifer Reis, creator of Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra® in order to become a certified Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra instructor.

I hold a Bachelor of Science from Boston University in Speech-Language Pathology and a Master's of Social Work with a Healthcare Concentration from Barry University. I believe in the transformative power of music, the power of nature, the power of love and compassion and community. I am a lifelong student and love to educate myself on all things wellness-- yoga, eastern philosophy, nutrition, traditional and complementary medicine, and on and on! I live in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles with my husband and son.

Ananda means "bliss," and it is my wish to guide everyone to find theirs.
