The Apocalypse - Not What You Usually Think Of

Details
Many of us think of the Apocalypse as the end of the world and associate with many doomsday scenarios.
However, the word "apocalypse" comes from the Greek term "ᾰ̓ποκᾰ́λῠψῐς" (apokalypsis) which means "unveiling" or "revelation" rather than a catastrophic extinction.
So, join us for a discussion where we contrast popular notions of the Apocalypse with other more ancient and timeless meanings and investigate just what is the apocalypse. Perhaps, we will also get a sense of the trajectory(ies) of societies, humanity, and ourselves.
For our format, we will endeavor to include engagement with serious ideas on the apocalypse by reading texts with substance from religious and philosophical figures, alongside having large and small group open discussions. Take this as a rather meaty, and hopefully insightful afternoon coffee with a group of good people.
See you then.
