Debate 101: Cancel Culture should be Cancelled
Details
Few topics bring out sharper opinions — or sloppier reasoning — than cancel culture.
This workshop uses one of the most charged debates of our time as a live laboratory for critical thinking. You'll get to argue it. But first, you'll learn to argue it well.
Before the debate begins, we'll run a crash course in logical fallacies — the reasoning errors that quietly hijack most cancel culture conversations before they even get started. Ad hominem. False dichotomy. Appeal to emotion. Slippery slope. You'll learn to spot them in others' arguments, catch them in your own, and use that clarity to actually go somewhere in the debate instead of talking past each other.
Then we debate.
The motion: "Cancel culture should be cancelled."
The real challenge: Making your case without committing the very fallacies you just learned to spot.
No debate experience needed — just a willingness to have your thinking tested.
