Creating River REMS (relative elevation models), a Daniel Coe tutorial

Details
Greetings friends!
For May's Maptime, we're going to go through Daniel Coe's tutorial on how to build a relative elevation mode in QGIS on a river of your choice!
REMs differ from DEMs (digital elevation models) in that the lowest reference elevation is the lowest local elevation instead of sea level. More details can be pulled out and beautiful cartographic art, as seen in the posting's picture, can be created.
To follow along with us, make sure you have the following:
- QGIS installed on your computer (see qgis.org for the free download )
- A DEM of a river of your choice (I'll supply one if you don't want to choose). Find and prepare a DEM
When we're done, I'd love to post screen shots of all of our versions of river gorgeousness.
Zoom link passcode will be emailed out the day before the event.
We'll still be virtual for this version, but we'll do an in-person Maptime in June!
See you on Tuesday evening, the 24th!
