Virtual Machines: little boxes on the hillside

During this session, we'll learn how to build and run Virtual Machines (VM). For the purposes of this tutorial, Virtual Machines (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_machine) will give us the the ability to run a self contained operating system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operating_system) on our existing computer.
So, why Virtual Machines? Here are a few scenarios:
• Running a Mac? Setup a VM running Windows tooperate ESRI software
• Run test or beta software. Don’t jeopardize your whole computer, just a VM
• Running Windows? Test drive or setup a Linux WebServer
Add VMs to your tool chain!
Target Audience: people who want to avoid the constraints of any single operating system. Beginners encouraged!
Be sure to bring your laptop! If you get a chance install Virtual Box (https://www.virtualbox.org/).
