About us

What did this book leave in your margins?

Welcome to Marginalia, a literary salon for curious women who believe the best conversations begin after the final page.

Once a month, we gather to explore classics and modern classics that linger long after they’ve been read—fiction that unsettles us, transforms us, and refuses easy answers. Many of the books we choose explore philosophical questions, moral ambiguity, psychological depth, and the strange beauty of being human.

This isn’t a place to search for the “correct” interpretation or to prove how well-read you are. We believe literature is a conversation rather than a puzzle to solve, and that every thoughtful reader brings something unique to the margins.

Whether you arrive with a notebook full of annotations or simply one passage you can’t stop thinking about, your perspective is welcome here. Our conversations are rooted in curiosity, openness, and genuine dialogue. We ask thoughtful questions, embrace ambiguity, and often leave with more questions than answers.

This salon is for women who are thoughtful, artistically inclined, intellectually curious, and emotionally open—women who enjoy sitting with complexity and exploring ideas together. If you love fiction that rewards slow reading and meaningful conversation, you’ll feel right at home.

Above all, my hope is that Marginalia becomes more than a book club. I hope it becomes a community—one where great literature sparks lasting conversations, genuine friendships, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and one another.
