Those of us who relocated to the South soon learned that the history of the Civil War we were taught up North was a bit different than the "history" we encountered here. We were taught that the war was primarily about slavery, while the here it implies that it was about "states rights". The war was often referred to as the "war of Northern aggression". This revisionist history is known as the "Lost Cause".
