MARS Nov 2022 Meeting) Mars 2022: An Observers Guide Part 2, Imaging

Details
Mars 2022: An Observers Guide Part II: Imaging.
This month’s speaker is long-time member and NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador Gregory Shanos who will present the second part of this two- lecture series. Mars will soon be rising in the evening sky in early December so now is the time to familiarize ourselves with the planet. This month we will discuss how to attach a planetary video camera (a modern webcam) to your telescope, take a one-minute video, align and stack the individual frames on a laptop computer to create a photo that rivals the quality of the Hubble Space Telescope! Getting started is relatively inexpensive with most of the software being free from the internet. Image photographs are archived by the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers for Amateur-Professional Collaborations.
