Tired of reading about the problems with capitalism, but wondering what a real alternative could look like? For our first-ever meeting, we'll be discussing Jason Hickel's **"Less is More,"** an accessible book that argues that degrowth is not just necessary, but a path to a more equitable and fulfilling world.

Whether you've finished the book, just read a few chapters, or haven't yet opened it or picked it up from the library yet, all you need to bring is your curiosity.

**Location & Weather Plan:**
We'll be meeting in the **covered picnic area at Gas Works Park**. This will provide shelter and let us keep the "Parks" vibe even if the weather isn't perfect.

* **Weather plan:** We'll post a confirmation here during the week of the event. If the weather is super cold, windy, or rainy, we will change the location to a nearby indoor backup location and announce it here.

**Schedule:**

* **1:30 - 1:45 pm:** Arrive, grab a spot, casual introductions.
* **1:45 - 2:45 pm:** Group discussion on the book.
* **2:45 - 3 pm:** Decide on the next book and date of the next meet up.
* **3:00 pm onwards:** Optional, casual socializing for anyone who wants to stick around.

**What to Bring:**

* Yourself, your book (if you have one), and your thoughts.
* A blanket or camp chair for extra comfort.
* A hot drink or snack to keep you cozy.

**The Vibe:**
This is a welcoming space for all levels of knowledge. The goal is thoughtful, respectful discussion and building a community of people who believe a better world is possible. No prior expertise in economics or theory is required!
