From Morning Choice to Soapstone (The Thru-Hike of a Lifetime)

The Hike: Enjoy this 6.9-mile, (point to point), trail near Elkridge, Maryland. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2h 45 min to complete. Expect elevations as high as 900 feet with plenty of ups and downs This is a popular trail for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running, so plan to see a little of all.

WHAT TO EXPECT: This is a hike for those who enjoy hiking and the outdoors. Be prepared as you will be expected to maintain a 2- 2.5 mph pace and navigate through stream crossings at times, and some elevations up to 900 feet. We will be hiking from point to point and motoring back to the trailhead, so spaces are limited. Please do not sign up for this event ,unless you can absolutely make it! Upon signing up, you will be placed on a waiting list before being admitted. Again, space is limited. You will be required to wear a mask, observing Covid protocols during transport.

SUGGESTED ATTIRE: Long hiking cargo pants, hiking shoes or boots are highly recommended. Also wear wool socks as they help with moisture control, and the prevention of blisters.
· WHERE TO MEET: We will be meeting at the Morning Choice trailhead at 5568 Landing Road. Elkridge, Md 21075
· RSVP COMMON COURTESY: Only RSVP if you intend to make the hike a priority, not just an option. Spaces are limited and when you cancel less than 48 hours in advance, you limit your fellow aspiring hikers, in “waitlist” status the potential to participate!
· DOGS: There is a limit of one dog for this hike. Please send or post a message if you want to bring a dog. You and the dog must keep pace, and you animal must be friendly to all.

· ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Please understand that we move as a unit. Do not move ahead of the hike leader, as we will not be moving at your pace or providing you directions to guide you. If you find the hiking pace to be insufficient, please feel free to separate from the group and continue on your own.
Also, to participate in the hike, you must display a recent member photo on your profile.

· Be Prompt: Please depart you residence in enough time to arrive promptly. We will be departing at the prescribed time, and are unable to wait if you are late. We must be considerate of other peoples’ time.
